Anna Starck is an interdisciplinary artist whose practice explores the sacred within ordinary life. Working across painting, sculpture, installation, and sound, she creates contemporary myths through archetypes, shared symbols, social conventions, and collective memory. Her work examines the invisible connections between people and the ways societies construct meaning, belonging, and hope.

Drawing from Jewish thought, biblical texts, ancient Greek mythology, Christian imagery, and Slavic folklore, Starck brings together different spiritual and cultural traditions as overlapping languages. Rather than illustrating mythology, she reinterprets these systems to examine universal experiences of love, death, transformation, faith, and the divine.

Starck’s works are characterized by a strong physical presence and an immersive scale. She creates environments that echo the experience of standing before frescoes or entering a sacred space, inviting the viewer not only to observe the work but to become part of it. The contrast between black and white functions as a central visual language: white carries light, innocence, possibility, and hope, while black represents chaos, knowledge, darkness, and death.

Her process is intuitive, physical, and meditative. Gesture, repetition, duration, and attentiveness are more important than complete control or predetermined composition. Starck uses the body as both a tool and a measure, allowing imagery to emerge gradually between abstraction and figuration, as a translation of the unseen into visual form.

At the heart of Starck’s practice lies the belief that nothing is entirely ordinary. The spiritual already exists within everyday life, within human relationships, and within each of us. Through her work, she seeks to create moments of stillness, tenderness, wonder, and renewed belonging.
